BAGHDAD - Iraq is the state capital, is located on the Tigris River. Modern Baghdad - is a huge historical kultrny center of the country and a major transportation hub of the state. There are numerous universities, colleges, theaters, museums and monuments. Here converge all the major railroads and highways. There is an international airport, "Al-Hunaidi" as well as a major river port. International Airport, "Al-Hunaidi" is the largest airport in Iraq, located in the suburbs, 16 kilometers (10 miles) west from the center of Baghdad.
